Whence Summer?
Is That The Sun??!!
I’m trying hard to look past the seemingly endless rains of June to another warm and wonderful Long Island summer. Unfortunately, it’s taking more optimistic imagination than I can currently summon. On the other hand, what’s better than several days of rain when you’re working on the newsletter?
Anyway, let us get to it.
Another Contest is in the Books

Without doing any math, I believe this is the 16 annual Spring Fitness Challenge. It’s gone by several names and a half-dozen or so formats, but it always brings out the best in nearly everyone who undertakes it. This year was no different. The winning team of Dylan Floody and Brendon Stankard, trained by Tyler Havonec, took home the top prize. What’s more, they placed first and third, respectively, in the individual scoring—a rarely equaled performance in contest history. The runner-ups were Kelly Pape and Melanie Russo, trained by Liz Keller, and the third-place team was comprised of Kim Demaio and Anthony Ramirez, trained by Jackie Niciforo. The top three individuals were rounded out by second-place finisher Gabrielle Andersen, trained by Jourdan Ilardi. As always, terrific results were seen across the board, and a splendid time was had by all. You can read more about the experience of the winning team in this issue. You can see the complete results on our website by clicking here.
Fresh Faces in the Crowd!

We’re very fortunate to have two brand new Personal Trainers join our unmatched staff: Kyle Gala and Joe Fioravanti. Kyle is brand new to FI, while Joe is already a familiar face at the Front Desk and in the Cafe. If you’re looking for creative, energetic young minds to design your training program, these two perfectly fit the bill. You can read more about what led Kyle and Joe to pursue Personal Training as a career in this issue.
Get Red

We’re also excited about a couple of new services we just rolled out in the spa: “Revive and Illuminate” with Roxanne and “Sole and Glow” with Maria Hogan. One thing these services have in common is the use of Red Light therapy as part of the experience. What’s more, they are both administered by outstanding technicians with years of innovation and experience under their belts. You can learn more about Revive and Illuminate in this issue. Sole and Glow, which combines Facial Light Therapy and Reflexology, is just rolling out as we go to press. Watch for announcements, or call the Spa at 631-893-3490.

Have You Gotten Your Free Assessment?

You should! For one thing, it’s free, and whatever you’re hoping to accomplish at the gym, knowing where you stand right now is indispensable. Why? It’s simple, really. You’re not a fitness expert. I’m sure you’re an expert at other things – what you do for a living, and perhaps in a few other fun areas where you focus your attention. But let’s face it: there are only so many hours in a day and only so many fitness influencer videos that you can digest. To truly succeed at fitness, you need a plan. Any good plan starts with a fitness assessment conducted by a fitness professional. All you have to do is stop by the desk the next time you check in and say, “I would like a free assessment.” You’ll fill out a short form, and we’ll schedule your assessment. It’s that simple.
Let me make it even simpler:

Speaking of Free Assessments…

The Spa is also offering a Free Skin Assessment with one of our Skin Experts. As with fitness, it really helps you to understand what skin issues you’re dealing with, what products you should be using, who and when you should be using them, and which skincare routine you should be following. Sign up for your free assessment today. Stop by the Spa, call 631-893-3490, or click here to get started right now.
The Green Fork + Fitness Incentive = Delicious!
