Studio Mind+Body

Our Mind + Body program encompasses several related yet distinct disciplines, such as Yoga, Pilates, Stretch, and Barre programming.  All are delivered by some of Long Island’s finest instructors in a beautiful, tranquil, infrared-heated environment. All the classes and programs of the Mind + Body program share a common goal: to promote a balanced approach to health and wellness through a combination of techniques including breathing, meditation, and postures that enhance your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Mind+Body Core Offerings

Yoga

The practice of Yoga is at the foundation of our Mind+Body program. We offer a wide range of styles, including Vinyasa, Hatha, Kripalu, and Kundalini, as well as classes that cross-pollinate ideas from different schools to create a unique experience.  Most classes can be adapted to any level of experience and provide you with a pathway to expand and develop your practice. Our studio features FAR Infrared heating, allowing us to offer classes in various temperatures with the added health benefits of infrared heat. It’s an amazing experience!

Pilates

Pilates is a form of exercise developed by Joseph Pilates that emphasizes the balanced development of the body. It focuses on building core strength, flexibility, and body awareness to support efficient, graceful movement. Studio Mind+Body is focused on Pilates mat classes, with the added benefits of Infrared heating in our studio. This, along with our knowledgeable instructors, will provide you with an unforgettable Pilates experience. An added bonus: As you develop your Pilates practice, private and small group Pilates Reformer training is also available for an additional fee.

Stretch

Stretching is one of the most important yet overlooked aspects of fitness. Not in Studio Mind+Body! In addition to the eastern discipline of Yoga, we offer a more traditional “ohm-free” western version of stretching. Every bit as intense as Yoga, these immersive classes are essential for a well-rounded fitness program and indispensable for your long-term health and well-being. Plus, our Infrared panels again provide us with the option to teach stretch in varying temperatures, all conducive to the best possible experience and results.

Barre

Barre is the fourth leg of the Mind+Body program stool. Combining the grace of ballet, the discipline of yoga, the grace of Pilates, and the rigor of stretching, Barre is both a challenging and beautiful practice. Our experienced instructors will help you get started and develop your Barre practice. As with all of our Mind+Body classes, our Infrared heating provides added health benefits to our Barre classes. If you’ve never tried Barre, it’s waiting for you!

Pilates Reformer - Private and Small Group Training

Pilates Reformer

The Pilates Reformer is a unique type of exercise equipment that Joseph Pilates developed in the early 20th century. His goal was to provide a mechanism that would help people improve their overall health and fitness while being gentle on their joints. Enhanced over time, the Pilates Reformer has become an incredibly versatile piece of equipment used in Pilates studios worldwide.

Training on the Reformer involves a series of unique exercises specifically designed to be executed on the reformer that improve flexibility, core strength, and body alignment, making it a great way to develop and maintain mobility and general fitness.

Fitness Incentive’s Reformer Studio

We offer Pilates Reformer training in a private studio setting with experienced, certified instructors who will guide you through the Reformer experience. This low-impact, full-body workout improves flexibility, core strength, and overall body awareness. We offer regularly scheduled small group (4-person max) classes you can reserve through the FI+ app. Private instruction is also available but must be scheduled with an instructor.

What To Wear And Bring

We recommend wearing any comfortable workout clothes – shorts or workout leggings and a tank or tee. Most members practice barefoot, but you also have the option to wear socks. If you have a mat, bring it. Otherwise, we provide mats in the room. Make sure you come to class hydrated and bring water. If you forget, don’t worry – we have a water fountain and sell water in our cafe.
