Just a Few Rules You Should Know About…
New York State law provides that you can obtain a refund on your membership if either of two conditions occur: 1. You become physically disabled and are unable to exercise for a period of 6 months or longer; 2. You move more than 25 miles from the health club. To obtain a refund you must present proof of either condition – a doctors note or a utility bill from your new location. You can get a copy of our cancellation form here.
Fitness Incentive requires a minimum of 14 days notice to process your cancellation request. Any payments on your account that come due prior to the effective date of your cancellation will still be owed and will be charged to your credit card or bank account, using the payment method you have agreed to.
Cancellations for reasons other than the above are at the discretion of Fitness Incentive, and may be subject to a cancellation fee of $25 in addition to your next months dues.
Memberships can also, of course, be frozen as described below.
Merchandise can be returned for store credit only.
Freezing Your Membership
The Fitness Incentive will allow you to “freeze” your membership when you can’t attend for a period of 5 days or longer. The following restrictions apply: 3 Month Memberships are limited to 1 Freeze; Year memberships are limited to 3 Freezes. Other memberships cannot be frozen. The total of all freezes cannot exceed 365 days. Members must notify us ahead of time to freeze their memberships. While your membership is on freeze, you will continue to be billed for any membership payments that come due. This allows your membership to stay current. When you return, your membership is taken off freeze, and the days it was frozen are added on to the end, extending your expiration date, so you will lose no time on your membership. There is no charge for freezing your membership.
Children in the Gym
Childcare is provided for free in our nursery during the hours indicated below:

Mon & Wed: 8am-2:30pm, 4pm-8pm
Tues: 8am – 2;30pm, 4pm – 8:30pm
Thurs: 8am – 2;30pm, 4pm – 8:15pm
Friday: 8am-2:30pm, 3:30pm-7pm
Sat & Sun: 8am – 12:30pm
Parent(s) or guardian must remain on premises while child is in the nursery. Maximum stay in the nursery is two hours. For their own safety, children under 14 are only allowed in the gym during the hours when childcare is provided, and they must remain in the nursery. Children must be 14 years of age or older to work out in the gym, and must have parental permission. Children’s Fitness Classes and training are also available. Inquire at the front desk.
Year memberships are billed every month for installment memberships on or about the 1st of the month. If the credit card or direct debit transaction cannot be completed for any reason, you will be asked to provide an alternative means of payment. You may also be subject to an additional processing fee. If you have arranged for non-EFT payment, you must make this payment 7 days or more before the due date (the 1st of the month). Accounts that are 10 days or more overdue can result in a late fee, cancellation of your membership, and/or the loss of credit privileges. Founders and other Locked-in Members who fail to make their scheduled payment in a timely manner are subject to loss of their locked-in price and other membership privileges.
Parking permits are required for parking in the Fitness Incentive parking lot. Pick yours up at the desk. Violators are subject to ticketing and towing. Please park in designated areas and spaces ONLY. Commuter parking and other long-term parking is prohibited. The lot is reserved for the exclusive use of gym customers and employees, and the customers and employees of other businesses that occupy the 157-175 Deer Park Avenue. Any other use is subject to ticketing. Also be aware that our lot is patrolled and cars that have expired registrations and inspections are also subject to ticketing, regardless of whether you have an FI parking permit.
Lockers are available on a first come first served basis. Locks must be removed by days end. Locks left on overnight will cut off and contents held at the desk.
