I Just Blinked
Ready or Not, It’s Fall!
OK, where exactly did the summer go? I’m pretty sure I saw it here a minute ago. Then I blinked, and poof! It’s gone. Again.
What We Did On Our Summer “Vacation”

For your tireless crew at Fitness Incentive, it was a hot summer full of hard work, most of it expended on migrating our club management software to a new provider, an often frustrating and thankless task that’s guaranteed to cause problems and annoy people. (A special call out to Kristen and Jourdan, who did much of the heavy lifting that carried it across the goal line.)
There’s an old warning: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Well, after tolerating it for many years, we’d had enough of compromising. The old system was “broke” in many ways that were not readily apparent; more by sins of omission than commission, but shortcomings just the same. We wanted a newer, better, more modern system with the bells and whistles modern consumers have come to expect and demand. To put it bluntly, we wanted better.
The Relentless Pursuit of Better

You may have noticed that we’re a little obsessed with getting better—all the time. The software upgrade was merely the latest example. We know the migration to new software had some annoying moments, including billing and other account issues. We have been working tirelessly to resolve them – thank you for your patience! In the end, we believe the capabilities of the new system will be worth the inevitable short-term pain.
The bottom line is that you’ll be able to do so much more on the new app than you could on the old one, like managing your account, one-click check-in, reserving your spot in classes, watching live stream and on-demand classes, easy on-app purchases, and so much more. Welcome to the 21st century!
You can read more about the new software and our new mobile app right here in this issue.

A Lot is Stirring in the Spa!
There is so much happening in Incentives Organic Spa & Salon that we could do an entire issue on just that. Here’s a quick rundown of the highlights:
Spatober is Coming!

Every spa lover’s favorite event of the fall season has to be Spatober. We’ve been celebrating this two-week event for over a decade now, and it never fails to excite. This year, Spatober will run from October 27th to November 8th. Booking will commence on October 13th.

Introducing Carol Winwood, our Newest Esthetician

We’re very excited to have Carol join the outstanding staff of Incentives. She brings a tremendous amount of passion to her work, and we’re confident you’ll love her. You can read about her take on why Professional Facials are essential in this issue by clicking here.
Fare Thee Well

The Spa also experienced a change in management, as Heidi Manzo, who ably managed the Spa for the past 14 years, resigned. On the upside, she’s leaving to spend more time taking care of her grandchildren, including her latest, Hanna, who just came into this world on August 8th. Heidi was the rock on which the Spa successfully stood, and she will be missed as a friend and a co-worker by everyone who has the pleasure of knowing her.
Jourdan Ilardi has taken on the role of manager, and based on our somewhat deep knowledge of her skills and abilities, we are expecting big things from her (don’t we always!). She’s very excited about building on the success of the past and taking the Spa in some exciting new directions. For example…

Credit Where Credit is Due

I want to give credit and express gratitude to Deirdre Abriola, who provided most of the photos and videos you see in this issue (including the cover photo), as well as on our social media pages, in and around the gym, and on our website. As you can tell, she’s got an excellent eye for her work, and we’re fortunate to have her on the team!
