I’m just finishing up another holiday edition of the newsletter – the 34th edition (YIKES!) to be exact – and fittingly, the temperatures outside are in the high teens. Welcome to December. It’s always a smack in the face when the first really cold day lands, and here it is—only another 4 or 5 months of this misery to get through. Uggh. Anyway…

Let’s turn our thoughts instead to the joy of the festive season ahead, and celebrate some of the wonderful people and events that helped make FI such a special place, again, this year.

Cover Story

One group we are excited to tell you more about is our team of personal trainers, so much so that we’ve put them on the cover of this issue. The pandemic stripped this department, and we’ve been rebuilding it over the past several years, bringing on new talent, instituting an internal “level 2” certification program, and rearranging the floor layout to better support emerging trends in fitness. We’re extremely proud of this group and the progress they have made in restoring the FI-PT program to its former glory, so we wanted to take this opportunity to introduce them all to you. What’s Under Our Tree? New Equipment!

Santa is making a stop at FI this holiday season and is leaving a couple of very special items under our tree. You’ll soon be seeing a brand new Rogue Belt Squat and a Rogue Ski Erg (see photos). Gena Needs Our Help

Our long-time member and friend Gena Maurrasse is facing a tough battle against a rare form of pancreatic cancer for the second time. After undergoing chemotherapy and a complex surgery earlier this year, she showed incredible strength by reaching remission. Now, she’s exploring additional treatments like hyperbaric oxygen therapy and acupuncture to support her recovery. These therapies, however, come with significant out-of-pocket costs that insurance doesn’t cover.
