Back to Reality…No BullFit.
Looking for Some Fall Fitness Motivation? We Have Just the Thing!
There’s No Excuse Not To
Our No Bullfit Challenge is the most straightforward, basic, affordable fitness challenge we’ve ever offered. And we’ve been doing these things since 2009. After our Spring Fantastic Four Challenge, we surveyed everyone who participated. Then we surveyed everyone who had ever participated in any challenge. We took that feedback and built the No Bullfit model, keeping it simple and, well, bullfit-free. Here’s how we addressed your concerns:
I Want to Do It, But It’s Too Expensive
We stripped away all the fancy perks and costs and got it down to just $100 to participate.
I Want To Be Done Before Thanksgiving
Done! The challenge runs for 8 weeks, starting September 28th and ending November 21st—perfect timing for pre-holiday “trimming.”
Let Me Train How I Want
Some people like to train with partners – others, not so much. This challenge, it’s completely up to you. Train however you prefer, but train. That’s the one immutable rule: You MUST train a minimum of 8 times during the 8-week challenge. There’s no limit on how frequently you can train, so go for it!
I Already Have Training Sessions. Why Can’t I Use Them For The Challenge?
This time, you can! No bullfit! Use whatever sessions you already have, or buy new ones. Or mix both. Whatever you prefer.
Men and Women Should Not Compete Against Each Other – It Gives Men/Women (take your pick) an Unfair Advantage.
We heard you. For the No BullFit Challenge, scoring will be by gender, and the prizes will be equally distributed.
There Should Be a Senior Division – It’s Not Fair for Seniors to Compete with Kids in their 20’s/30’s/40’s’/etc.
Agreed! This challenge will also have a Senior Division for 65+, with an equal share of the prizes.
I Don’t Care About Cash Prizes. I’d Rather Make It More Affordable!
You got it. No cash prizes. And it’s a lot more affordable. But the winners still deserve something! And they’ll get something – a Free Year All-Access Membership to Fitness Incentive. One for each category, four Grand Prizes in all (male/female – open/senior division). Plus, we’ll have a few special awards for noteworthy non-winners.
Anything Else?
Yes! We included two additional InBody Assessments during the contest, and interim results will be tracked and shared on our Challenge Leaderboard, which will be updated after each assessment. Just to keep your competitive juices flowing!
How Is It Scored?
The goal of the No Bullfit Challenge is one of the few things that is unchanged, basically because everyone pretty much agrees with it: Lose Body Fat and Gain Lean Muscle Mass. In this challenge, you’ll judged at an individual level, no partner or team scoring. Other than that, it’s scored the same way as our other challenges, comparing your starting point InBody scan with your endpoint InBody scan. There’s a specific formula that InBody recommends and that we use. It’s a bit lengthy for inclusion here, but if you’re interested, you can read all about it by Clicking Here.

A New Way to Train

Introducing Everfit
Virtual training is all the rage right now, and for good reason. It provides an affordable, flexible way for many to get better results while training on their own. There are hundreds, even thousands of “fitness influencers” out there offering programs, but while they may be trainers, they are not YOUR trainer. They don’t know you, and it’s unlikely they ever will. What they provide is an off-the-shelf program that sort of matches your goal, and they hope for the best.
With Everfit, your friendly neighborhood gym – that’s us, Fitness Incentive – is now able to offer you both hybrid and virtual training, but with a difference. We DO know you. So we can and will customize your program to be yours. We’ll be offering two basic program options to start: HPT (hybrid, meaning a mix of in-person and virtual sessions), and VPT (virtual, where all the sessions are virtual, but supplemented by an in-person InBody and personalized program design).
There’s an article in this issue where you can learn more: Introducing Everfit.
91 Reasons to Be Inspired

Over the past couple of weeks, many of us, myself included, have had the distinct pleasure of meeting Jane Allie. Jane is here from Arizona, visiting her sister, FI member Gail Donofrio, and working out – hard and often – while she is here. Here’s the thing – Jane is 91 years old. Not that you’d ever guess that. Here’s another – she’s chasing the Guinness Book of World Records for the Dead Hang. And get ready for this – the record is something like 2 minutes and 52 seconds. If you have ever tried hanging, hitting a minute is a serious challenge. Two minutes is elite. Well, I watched Jane hit 2 minutes and 30 seconds at FI, and she informed me that she’s already done 3 minutes and longer at home in Arizona, where she trains with her son. 3 minutes and 45 seconds, to be exact! Let that sink in.
But there’s more. She was also doing 70 lb deadlifts and taking back-to-back Hot Yoga and Dance Blast classes. How ever many ways there are to be inspired, Jane hit them all, not just for me, but for everyone who had the opportunity to interact with her. Age remains a construct; a state of mind. You can sit back and let it happen to you, or you can get up every day and resist. The choice is yours. Jane has made hers.
