Typically this is the time of year when spring training is ending and vacations and summer breaks are beginning.  You see it in the gym all around you as the Eat Smart 30 day Challenge winds down, and the Fantastic Four contest is ending, and members and teams are revealing their new selves and their amazing results.   Just take a look at all the before and after pictures on the Fitness Incentive Facebook page…they’re impressive.  Hundreds of members losing thousands of pounds and inches, literally.  And if they can do it, so can you!

You don’t have to start on January 1st with a  New Years resolution,  or spring training, or the annual Fantastic 4 Contest.  You just have to start NOW!!  There is no better time of year to get started on your fitness and weight loss goals and the best moment to begin the journey is today. Picture what your results will look like in two weeks, a month, six months and a year.  A five-pound weight loss, or fifteen pounds or fifty plus pounds.  If you want it, if you’ve been thinking about it, if you’ve been procrastinating, it’s finally the right time.  And whether your goal is focused on 30 days, or until July 4th, or 8 weeks, or until “the wedding,” or until “the reunion,” you just have to take the first step, and that first step is the hardest one of the entire journey.   You need to say it,  believe it and commit to it.   Once you commit, there’s so much support to help you succeed.

The only thing holding you back is YOU.   We are usually our own worst enemies.  We judge ourselves so harshly.  We don’t define our goals, or when we do, we sometimes have unrealistic, unachievable goals,  like expecting to lose 10 pounds in just one week of “dieting.”  We beat ourselves up when we have a moment’s weakness.  We listen to that negative voice in our head telling us we can’t or that we failed, yet we would never do this to anyone else.  In fact, we encourage everyone around us…we encourage our children, our spouses, our friends and our co-workers.  It’s about time we recognize how we sabotage ourselves and reach out for help in the FI community.
