There’s a saying that if the only tool you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. We live in an age where this has become increasingly true of mainstream health care. The tools they wield are drugs, and often their only treatment is to wait until your problem gets bad enough to warrant a prescription. If you’ve grown tired of this approach and want to take control of your health, this program is for you.

The Pursuit of Wellness

How a Health Coach Can Help You

by K.Brown

We live in an age of specialization. The over-crammed complexity of modern life has dictated it. Few people have the time to truly master even a single field, never mind the mind-boggling array of important subjects that impact our lives. You need financial advice? You hire an investment advisor. Tax problems? Hire an accountant or a tax attorney – or both. Medical care – forget the general practitioner (except for a referral) you want a specialist. At the gym you look to a personal trainer to guide you through the complexities of exercise. These are completely rational decisions. There simply aren’t enough hours in a day to be good at all the things you need to be good at. And many of these decisions that need to be made are critical to your health, wealth and general well-being. So it makes perfect sense to find someone who is an expert, and to let them make sure you’re doing the right things.

Ironically, one area that gets a short-shrift in this new age of specialization is actually a broader field: wellness. By “wellness” I mean the sum total of your health, physically and mentally, and, most importantly, its sustainability. Perhaps right now you’re feeling pretty good. Youth and good genetics can cover up for a lot of bad decisions. But are you really on the right track? Will you stay there if you are? Can you get back on it if you’re not? Are you eating, drinking, sleeping, exercising and recreating in the right way, in the right balance, to keep yourself healthy long term? Have you developed habits that over time will slowly erode your health and happiness? Will you live a long vibrant, healthy life, or will you face a life pockmarked by illness, surgeries and medications that may keep you alive, maybe even for many years, but will slowly sap your life of its vigor and enjoyment?

Even if you’re healthy right now, it’s very hard to know if you’re on the right track. And if you’re struggling with illness, injury or a genetic deficit, it’s even harder to get on the right track and stay there. That’s where a Health Coach can help. And we’re extremely fortunate to have one of the best, most experienced health coaches on our staff, Dr. Donna Brown.

Dr. Brown is a chiropractor with nearly 30 years of clinical experience. But more importantly, she has a vast amount of knowledge and experience in the area of nutritional therapy and integrative health care. As your health coach, she will personally guide you on a journey to better health; long-term, sustainable health.

Health Coaching – How It Works:

Most of us are dealing with some health issue or concern. Or we will be. And it only gets worse as we get older. Maybe you’ve been told you have elevated cholesterol or glucose…or maybe you’re diabetic or pre-diabetic, have digestive problems including IBS or acid reflux, or your hormones are out of balance, you have breast or prostate health worries, or maybe you’re simply feeling run down and tired all the time. Whatever your health concern, your health coach will work closely with you in a series of private consultations to get you back on the right track and feeling your best.

The process starts with Dr. Brown thoroughly examining your present state of health. She’ll review your blood work, eating habits, lifestyle, stress level and physical activity level. She will also discuss any personal health concerns you might have. After reviewing this information, she will develop a set of recommendations that you can implement that will set you on a clear path to feeling better than you’ve felt in years.

Dr. Brown can show you alternatives that can help you recover your health while lessening or possibly eliminating your need for medications. Most importantly, you’ll learn how to live healthier for the rest of your life.

If you or someone you know is interested in working with Dr. Brown as a health coach call or stop by Incentives Organic Spa. Dr. Brown will provide you with a free initial consultation, review the program and determine a course of corrective actions for you.
